Hard water is minerals that will affect your hair and skin. Water travels through limestone and chalk leaving behind calcium and magnesium. It contributes to dry skin and hair. The more you wash the drier you become and your scalp becomes itchy and flakey. Hard water can also change the pH balance of your skin, causing it to weaken and become more susceptible to bacteria and infections. Calcium and magnesium don’t dissolve detergents nor soap and leaves soap residue on your skin, hair and clothes. Soap residue left on sensitive skin can cause skin to become dry and clog pores.  You can try rinsing your hair with vinegar or citrus juice or use a mask to help alleviate dry brittle hair. An easier and longer lasting approach would be to invest in a water softener or purification system.
